Accidentals
An Accidental is a note in music that does not occur naturally in the written key. The accidental note is indicated by a Flat, a Sharp, or a Natural sign. Accidentals only affect notes within the same measure, following the first accidental and they do not affect notes in other octaves. A flat lowers a note by 1/2 step and a sharp raises a note by 1/2 step.
The Natural Sign indicates that whatever sharp or flat in the key signature or earlier in the measure is returned to the standard note.
The Natural Sign indicates that whatever sharp or flat in the key signature or earlier in the measure is returned to the standard note.
